Angļu valoda speciāliem mērķiem: valoda studijām un profesionālam lietojumam

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā ir veikta angļu valodas, kas paredzēta speciāliem mērķiem, izpēte (AVSM). AVSM ir sarežģīts jēdziens, kurš izskaidro, kādam speciālam mērķim tiek apgūta un izmantota angļu valoda. Darba teorētiskajā daļā ir aprakstīti iespējamie AVSM virzieni un klasifikācijas, specialitātes attīstības stadijas un piemērošana saskarsmē. Darba praktiskā daļa demonstrē angļu valodas izmantošanu darbā. Pētniecībā izmantotās metodes iekļāva AVSM aptauju profesionāliem mērķiem un konkrētu situāciju analīzi. Pētījuma rezultāti pierāda ka studējošajiem ir būtiski zināt par AVSM iespējām un to izmantošanu darbā, lai pareizi izmantotu esošās valodas zināšanas un iemaņas specifiskās nozarēs vai tālākajai profesionālajai izaugsmei.

The bachelor paper investigates and describes the field of English for Specific Purposes. ESP is a complex notion that illustrates for which specific purposes the English language is used and learned. The theoretical part of the paper provides possible classifications and definitions of ESP, discusses the stages of ESP development as a discipline and examines the use of ESP in communication conditions. The practical part demonstrates an approximate idea of the actual situation of the English language in the workplace nowadays. The selected methods comprised the survey of the questionnaire on ESP, namely for professional purposes and one case study. The obtained results of the research proved that it is essential for the student to become acquainted with the possibilities of ESP and its use in relevant conditions in order to apply correctly and improve his/her already obtained language knowledge and skills for user’s particular professional field or further career growth.
