Abstract
Maģistra darba “Pārtikas atkritumu samazināšanas iespējas mazumtirdzniecības nozarē” mērķis ir pārtikas atkritumu samazināšanas iespējas mazumtirdzniecības nozarē. Darbā analizēti galvenie pārtikas atkritumu cēloņi, izpētīta to ietekme uz vidi un ekonomiku, kā arī apkopoti starptautiskie labās prakses piemēri. Pētījuma ietvaros veikta patērētāju aptauja un ekspertu intervijas, lai noskaidrotu sabiedrības attieksmi pret pārtikas zudumu un tehnoloģiju izmantošanas potenciālu šīs problēmas risināšanā. Darba rezultātā izstrādāts automatizētas pieprasījuma prognozēšanas sistēmas ieviešanas projekts lielveikalā “Rimi Hyper Spice”, kas balstās uz mākslīgā intelekta un datu analīzes risinājumiem, ar mērķi samazināt pārtikas atkritumus un veicināt ilgtspējīgu mazumtirdzniecības praksi Latvijā. Darbs sastāv no 80 lappusēm, tajā iekļauti 12 attēli, 9 tabulas un 41 pielikums. Darba izstrādei izmantoti 29 literatūras un informācijas avoti.
The Master's thesis “Food Waste Reduction Opportunities in the Latvian Retail Sector” aims to explore ways to reduce food waste in the retail industry. The thesis analyzes the main causes of food waste, explores their impact on the environment and the economy, and compiles international best practice examples. As part of the research, a consumer survey and expert interviews were conducted to assess public attitudes towards food loss and the potential of technological solutions to address this issue. The outcome of the thesis is the development of a project for the implementation of an automated demand forecasting system at the supermarket “Rimi Hyper Spice”, based on artificial intelligence and data analysis solutions, with the aim to reduce food waste and promote sustainable retail practices in Latvia. The thesis consists of 80 pages and includes 12 figures, 9 tables, and 41 appendices. A total of 29 literature and information sources were used during the development of the thesis.
