Frēges 'patiesība': divas noteiksmes

Abstract

Rakstā “Doma” Frēge secina, ka jebkāds mēģinājums definēt patiesību ir lemts neveiksmei. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir parādīt, ka patiesības nedefinējamība ir savienojama ar Frēges agrākajiem centieniem skaidrot patiesības nojēgumu. Lai sasniegtu šo mērķi, tiek izskatītas divas Frēges darbos atrodamas patiesības noteiksmes – Patiesais kā abstrakts objekts un patiesums kā jēdziens; tiek iztirzāts slēdziens, kas noved Frēgi pie secinājuma par patiesības nedefinējamību; visbeidzot patiesības nedefinējamība tiek saattiecināta ar abu patiesības noteiksmju iztirzājumu, izvērtējot, vai nedefinējamības tēze ir spriedzē ar kādu no abām koncepcijām.

In his paper “Thought” Frege concludes that every attempt to define truth is bound to be a failure. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to show that the indefinability of truth is compatible with Frege’s earlier attempts to elucidate the notion of truth. In order to achieve this aim, firstly, two conceptions of truth in Frege – the True as an abstract object and truth as a concept – are inspected; subsequently, the argument that leads Frege to the conclusion regarding the indefinability of truth is examined; finally, the indefinability of truth is linked up to the elaboration of both conceptions of truth and it is assessed whether the indefinability thesis is in tension with either of them.
