Abstract
Virtualization and cloud computing technology is currently rapidly evolving, so it gets a lot of attention. Even if many other different services are already working well on clouds, DNS for clouds is still in development. The goal of this research was to get to know cloud computing technologies, DNS technologies and try to combine them, as well as research the current situation of this subject and deploy a working, integrated DNS service in the cloud. During this research, a local DNS server with geolocation services, which would be a valuable addition to cloud environment, was deployed, the author got to know the OpenStack cloud computing infrastructure, as well as the details that emerge from trying to combine clouds and DNS, and Designate, a DNSaaS (DNS as a service) still in development, was installed. From there, Designate was configured to connect to other OpenStack components and it's capabilities and functions were tested and its potential was evaluated.
