Abstract
Darba mērķis bija noskaidrot, kādu vietu un lomu noziedzības novēršanas sistēmā ieņem Valsts probācijas dienests, kā arī cik efektīvas ir dienesta realizētas funkcijas attiecībā uz noziedzības novēršanu.
Realizējot izvirzītos uzdevumus un pamatojoties uz ārvalstu praksi un pieredzi, var apgalvot, ka Valsts probācijas dienests kā viens no noziedzības novēršanas subjektiem sniedz nozīmīgu lomu noziedzības novēršanas jomā un probācijas programmas ir efektīvs instruments nozieguma recidīva novēršanā un mazināšanā tādā gadījumā, ja tā probācijas programma klientam tiek izvēlēta atbilstoša un piemērota.
Aim of the study was to clarify what place and role of crime prevention system holds the National Probation Service, as well as the effectiveness of the service functions implemented for the prevention of crime. By implementing the tasks on the basis of foreign law and experience, it can be argued that the National Probation Service as one of the subjects of crime prevention has an important role in crime prevention and probation programs are an effective tool for crime prevention and reduction of relapse if the selected program is appropriate and suitable for the customer.
