This paper provides the examination and applicability of the usability evaluation methods to universities Web sites considering also previously conducted evaluations and the emerging trends of new technologies. The user survey, usability review and usability testing guidelines for the universities Web sites have been developed to perform the usability evaluation. These guidelines were applied during the evaluation of the Web site of University of Latvia (www.lu.lv) and several usability issues were identified.
