Abstract
With the growing amount of false news on social networks, it is becoming increasingly important to educate students in media literacy. The social network Facebook is one of the most popular social networks, and every Facebook user can express opinion or share information. Often the information shared by Facebook users is not entirely true and it misleads the public. The aim of the research is to find out what is the reaction of the students from University of Latvia to false news and whether the students are sufficiently educated in media literacy. A focus group interview and questionnaire were used to conduct the empirical study.
