Varas attiecības un medikalizācijas diskurss augļa tūpļa guļas dzemdību veida izvēles procesā

Abstract

Darba mērķis ir izpētīt, kādas ir varas attiecības starp iesaistītām pusēm lēmuma pieņemšanas procesā par tūpļa guļas dzemdību veidu un kādi diskursi ietekmē galīgo lēmumu. Pētījuma veikšanas pamatā ir maldinošais priekšstats, ka ir nepieciešama ķeizargrieziena operācija, neņemot vērā, ka katrs dzemdību gadījums ir individuāls. Augļa tūpļa guļu joprojām mēdz uzskatīt par patoloģiju, kas savukārt veicina speciālistu varas pieaugumu par dzemdību veida izvēli, veicinot medikalizāciju. Darbā ir aplūkotas medikalizācijas un varas attiecību teorijas. Izmantojot kritiskā diskursa analīzi, tika veiktas 16 intervijas un mediju analīze. Tika noskaidroti vadošie diskursi un analizētas varas attiecības lēmuma pieņemšanā par dzemdību veidu. Sievietēm trūkst informācijas par dzemdību iespējām, kā arī iniciatīvas informācijas meklēšanā.

The aim of the thesis is to explore the power relations between the parties involved in the decision-making process of breech delivery, and what kinds of discourses influence the final decision. The research is based on a misleading notion of the need for a Caesarean section surgery without taking into account that each case is individual. Breech presentation still tends to be regarded as a pathology, which contributes to the power increase of specialists while choosing the way of delivery, promoting medicalization. The paper deals with theories of medicalization and power relations. The CDA, which include 16 interviews, was used to find out the leading discourses and the power relations were analyzed in deciding the type of maternity. Women lack the information on birth options, as well as the initiative of finding information.
