Abstract
Šajā darbā tiek apskatīta Turcijas demokratizācijas vēsture un armijas nozīmei tajā. Darbā tiek dots vispārējs vēstures pārskats par laika posmu no 1789.g. līdz 20.gs. beigām Turcijas Republikā. Vēstures izklāstā pastiprināta uzmanība tiek pievērsta armijas nozīmei Turcijas demokratizācijā. Darbā tiek secināts, ka Turcijas armijai ir bijusi liela nozīme Turcijas demokratizācijā, bet armijas darbība ne vienmēr ir bijusi viennozīmīga.
This work looks at the history of democratization in Turkey and the role of military in it. This work provides general description of events between 1789 till the end of 20th century in Republic of Turkey. In this description focus is set on the role of military in democratization of Turkey. It is concluded that the role of military in democratization of Turkey has been substantial, but not always unambiguous.
