Abstract
Analyzes the use of lavender as a therapeutic agent and its availability in the Latvian market. Considering global trends and the growing interest in medicinal plants, special attention is paid to lavender. The aim of the study is to examine the availability of lavender-containing dietary supplements and over-the-counter medications to consumers, as well as to evaluate their compliance with labeling. It also aims to assess the competence and knowledge of pharmacists regarding lavender preparations. As a result, one available lavender-containing medication is identified. Analysis of labeling reveals discrepancies and deficiencies. Survey results indicate the popularity of lavender-containing products but highlight the need for additional information for both pharmacists and consumers. Sales data for the Lilandor medication reflect low sales levels in the first months after its introduction to the market.
