Stāstījuma žanri un popularizācijas diskursa līdzekļi TEDxRiga runās

Abstract

Šis darbs ir izveidots, lai noteiktu visplašāk izmantotos stāstījuma žanrus izvēlētajās ar zinātni saistītājās TEDxRiga runās, kā arī salīdzinātu tajās atrodamās popularizācijas diskursa valodas raksturiezīmes, kuras iegūtas šī darba veidošanas laikā, ar Mattiello (2017) pētījumu, kas veikts saistībā ar citām TED runām. Pētījumā izmantotā metode ir satura analīze. Pētījuma rezultāti liecina, ka stāstījumi ir neatņemama TED runu žanra sastāvdaļa un atstāstījumi ir visplašāk izmantotais stāstījumu žanrs analizētājās runās. Pētījumā iegūtie rezultāti ļauj spriest, ka TEDxRiga runas nopietni neatšķiras no citām TED runām sev piemītošās pamatstruktūras un valodas raksturiezīmju ziņā, jo visās runās tiek izmantots humors, sarunvaloda, un neformāls reģistrs.

This research is devised to determine the prevailing storytelling genres in the selected TEDxRiga speeches related to the topic of science, as well as to compare the findings on the language features of the discourse of popularization obtained during the course of the present research to the findings of Mattiello’s research on TED Talks (2017). The present research is conducted by applying content analysis. The research findings allow to conclude that storytelling is an essential part of the genre of TED Talks and that recounts are the most prominent storytelling genre in the analysed speeches. The research demonstrates that TEDxRiga Talks are not fundamentally different from other TED Talks in their structure and usage of language features, as they all feature the usage of humour, colloquial language and informal register.
