Moljēra komēdijas “Vidusšķiras augstmanis” tulkošanas stratēģijas

Abstract

Maģistra darba mērķis ir iztulkot Moljēra muzikālo komēdiju “Vidusšķiras augstmanis” latviešu valodā un izanalizēt tulkošanas procesā lietotās tulkošanas stratēģijas. Ļoti maz Moljēra lugu ir tulkotas latviešu valodā, un neviens tulkojums nav veikts 21. gadsimtā, tāpēc šajā laukā ir plašas izpētes iespējas. Darbs sastāv no lugas tulkojuma un šī tulkojuma analīzes. Galvenās tulkojuma metodes ir teorētiskās literatūras analīze un tulkojuma teksta sistēmiska analīze. Moljēra muzikālās komēdijas tulkojumā izmantots plašs dāžādu tulkošanas stratēģiju spektrs, ko var apskatīt gan vispārīgi (piem., arhaizēšana), gan arī atsevišķu elementu kontekstā (humora, reāliju, īpašvārdu u. tml. elementu tulkošanā).

The purpose of this master’s thesis is to translate Molière’s comédie-ballet “Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme” into Latvian and to analyse the translation strategies used in the process. Very few of Molière’s plays have been translated into Latvian, and none have been transated during the 21st century, so this is a field with a lot of potential for study. The thesis consists of a translation of the play and an analysis of the aforementioned translation. The main methods of the study comprise an analysis of theoretical literature and a systemic analysis of the translated text. The translation of Molière’s comédie-ballet comprises a wide range of different translation strategies that can be assigned to the text in general (e.g. archaization) and to its specific elements (as in the case of humour, culture-specific items, proper nouns, etc.).
