Andreja Upīša literārā darbība no 1899. g. līdz 1909. g.: žanrs, strāvojumi un inovācijas

Abstract

Andreja Upīša 20. gadsimta sākuma radošā darbība aptver 65 prozas darbus, 4 lugas un 78 dzejoļus, arīdzan 37 darbus satīras žanrā. Avotu apjoma un žanriskā spektra dēļ maģistra darbā tiek aplūkoti tikai nozīmīgākie pirmajā desmitgadē sarakstītie A. Upīša prozas darbi. Pētījums „Andreja Upīša literārā darbība no 1899. g. līdz 1909. g.: žanrs, strāvojumi un inovācijas” ir mēģinājums apskatīt reālisma, naturālisma un citu literatūras virzienu vai strāvojumu iezīmju un prozas žanru īpatnību saskares punktus, analizējot katru prozas darbu atsevišķi. Pētījums ir arī mēģinājums konstatēt ideoloģisko un estētisko uzskatu lūzuma punktus rakstnieka pirmās desmitgades daiļradē. A. Upīts tradicionāli tiek saistīts ar klasisku 19. gadsimta reālistiskās literatūras tradīciju, taču vairākos autora romānos, īsajos stāstos un novelēs atrodami arī moderni paņēmieni un novitātes.

The writings of Andrejs Upits at the beginning of the 20th century include 65 works of prose, 4 plays and 78 poems, as well 37 works of satire. Because of the enormous volume of works and of genre differences, master’s thesis includes only the most important works of fictional prose, written during the first decade. The research “The Writings of Andrejs Upits between the Years 1899 and 1909: the Genre, Tendencies and Innovations” is an attempt to examine features and cross points of literary realism, naturalism or any other literary tendency or genres of prose, by analyzing each work of prose separately. The research is also an attempt to determine any ideological and aesthetical sudden changes or breaking points during the first decade of author’s writings. Traditionally Andrejs Upits is associated with the classical literary realism of the 19th century; however, there is a presence of modern elements and innovations in some of author’s novels, novellas and stories.
