Abstract
This bachelor's thesis explores the role of general care nurses in supporting patients undergoing computed tomography examinations. The relevance of this topic is underscored by the growing number of computed tomography procedures and the increasing demand for high-quality patient care within technologically advanced and emotionally challenging clinical settings. The primary objective of the thesis is to identify the types of support provided by general care nurses during computed tomography examinations. To achieve this, the study incorporated a literature review, evaluation of a theoretical model, and the execution of interviews. The central research question guiding the study is: What forms of support do general care nurses provide to patients throughout the computed tomography examination process? A qualitative methodology was employed, with semi-structured interviews serving as the primary data collection tool. Findings demonstrate that nurses deliver broad spectrum of professional support—including informational, emotional, and physical assistance—which significantly enhances patient comfort, cooperation, and the overall quality of diagnostic outcomes.
