Abstract
Apmierinātība ar attiecībām aptauja (Index of Marital Satisfaction, Hudson & Walter, 1982), kuru Latvijā adaptējusi T. Benke (Benke, 2009).

The aim of this research was to study the relationship between aggressive pre-school children behavior and parents satisfaction with couples relationship. For the aim of this research a hypothesis was proposed: there is a positive relationship between aggressive child behavior and low satisfaction in couple’s relationship. Hence, research question was proposed: is there a difference between fathers’ and mothers’ relationship with child aggressive behavior and parent’s dissatisfaction with couple’s relationship? Sixty-eight pre-school children (3-5 years old) participated at the research and their parents of whom 32 were mothers with the average age of M=29,53, SD=5,00 and 36 fathers with the average age of M=30,58, SD=5,66. Childs average age was M=4,38, SD=1,051. The average number of children per family M=1,59, SD=0,65. The ratio of gender was fixed: 50% girls and 50% boys. The methodology consisted of two questionnaires, the first one: Child behaviour check list (Child Behavior Checklist, Achenbach & Rescorla, 2000), which is adopted in Latvia by I.Skreitule-Pikše, S.Sebre and R.Upenieks. For the purpose of the research only one scale of the original questionnaire was used: Evaluation scale for aggressive behavior. The second one: Index of Marital Satisfaction (Index of Marital Satisfaction, Hudson & Walter, 1982), which is adopted in Latvia by T.Benke (Benke, 2009). The research confirmed the proposed hypothesis that there is a significant positive relationship between parents indicated child’s aggressive behavior and lower satisfaction with couple’s relationship. Analysis of the research data showed that fathers indicated aggressive behavior of his child had a statistically significant positive relationship with satisfaction of couple’s relationship. However, mothers indicated aggressiveness of her child had no statistically significant relationship with satisfaction of couple’s relationship. The aim of this research was fulfilled, hypothesis of this research was confirmed and research question was answered. The conclusion of this research can be used for further studies in this field, as well as the results of this study may be used as a basis for the development of other studies. Key words: child, aggressive behavior, satisfaction with couples relationship
