Abstract
Pētījumā skaidrota šo organizāciju struktūra un to struktūrvienību mijiedarbība, veicot tūrisma jomu attīstošus pasākumus.
In the USSR tourism was considered to play an important role in the promotion of Soviet identity and building of collective historical memory, which was necessary after the Second World War, when the USSR had occupied many countries, including Latvia. After the war reconstruction of tourism began, but the attempt to establish a centralized organization was unsuccessful. In the 60s, a major reorganization of tourism was done, that lead closer to the goal. The work analyses the activities of the Administration of Tourism and Excursions of Latvia and Republican Tourism Council of Latvia. The study explains the structure of these organizations and the interaction between departaments. This work contributes to not only awareness about the organization of tourism, but also the society of Latvian SSR in the 1960s.
