Abstract
Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, kādas pastāv saistības starp personības iezīmēm un video spēļu spēlēšanas paradumiem, kas ir spēlēšanas laiks, biežums, problemātiska spēlēšana un problemātiskas spēlēšanas aspekti. Dati tika iegūti no 60 respondentiem (38 vīrieši un 22 sievietes) ar Lielā Piecinieka aptauju (Big Five Invetory (BFI); Benet-Martinez & John, 1998) un Pārmērīgas interneta spēļu lietošanas iezīmju skalu pieaugušajiem (Game Addiction Scale for Adolescents (GAS-21); Lemmens, Valkenburg, & Peter, 2009). Tika iegūtas statistiski nozīmīgas negatīvas sakarības starp personības iezīmēm un video spēļu spēlēšanas paradumiem. Pastāv negatīva saistība starp ekstraversiju un spēlēšanas laiku; atvērtību pieredzei un spēlēšanas biežumu; labvēlīgumu un problemātisku spēlēšanu; apzinīgumu un recidīvu; atvērtību un atturēšanos, konfliktēšanos; ekstraversiju un svarīgumu, garastāvokļa izmaiņām; labvēlīgumu un kopīgu pārmērīgu spēlēšanu, svarīgumu, atturēšanos, konfliktēšanos.
The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship between personality traits and video gaming habits, including gaming time, frequency, problematic gaming, and aspects of problematic gaming. Data were obtained from 60 respondents (38 men and 22 women) using the Big Five Inventory (BFI; Benet-Martinez & John, 1998) and the Game Addiction Scale for Adolescents (GAS-21; Lemmens, Valkenburg, & Peter, 2009). Statistically significant negative correlations were found between personality traits and video gaming habits. There is a negative association between extraversion and gaming time; openness and gaming frequency; conscientiousness and relapse; openness and withdrawal, conflict; extraversion and salience, mood modification; agreeableness and overall problematic gaming, salience, withdrawal, conflict.
