Abstract
The aim of the study was to examine how parenting styles are related to anxiety, emotion regulation, and behavioral problems in children aged 7 to 11 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The study included 51 parents who completed three instruments: ASC-ASD-P, Vineland-3, and the Ghent Parental Behavior Scale. Correlation analysis revealed significant associations between behavioral problems and harsh punishment (ρ = 0.382; p = 0.006) and ignoring (ρ = 0.357; p = 0.01). A regression model (R² = 0.192; p = 0.018) showed that only parenting style (β = 0.316; p = 0.026) significantly predicted behavioral problems. Anxiety was also predicted by parenting style (β = 0.292; p = 0.049), while emotion regulation and behavioral symptoms were not significant predictors.
