Tikumu vienība Platona sokratiskajos dialogos

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā „Tikumu vienība Platona sokratiskajos dialogos” tiek skatīts viens no Sokrata paradoksiem – kā ir iespējams, ka individuālie tikumi (vīrišķība, taisnīgums, mērenība, dievbijība un saprātība) ir vienlaicīgi nošķirti viens no otra un katru tikumu veido viena un tā pati lieta – morālā zināšana. Šī problēma vistiešāk atklājas divos Platona dialogos, Protagorā un Lahētā, līdz ar to tie tika izmantoti kā pamats šajā darbā veiktajai analīzei. Darbā tika pierādīts, ka starp tiem ir iespējams izveidot koherentu skatījumu un atrisināt pastāvošās pretrunas, kam pamatā ir tikumu vienības formēšana caur zināšanu. Kā galvenās pamatinterpretācijas šajā darbā tika izmantotas Gregorija Vlastosa, Tomasa Brikhausa un Nikolasa Smita pozīcijas, kuras centos savstarpēji saskaņot.

The bachelor's thesis work “The Unity of the virtues in Plato's socratic dialogues” looks at one of Socrates's paradoxes – how is it possible that individual virtues (courage, justice, temperance and wisdom) are segregated from one another and at the same time every virtue is formed from the same thing – moral knowledge. This problem reveals itself most directly in two of Plato's dialogues, Protagoras and Laches, and so the mentioned works were used as the basis for this analysis. The bachelor's thesis work proves that it is possible to form a coherent view and solve such contradictions, that are based on forming the unity of virtues through knowledge. The main basic interpretations that were used in this work are the positions of Gregory Vlastos, Thomas C. Brickhouse and Nicholas Smith, which I tried to mutually harmonize.
