Abstract

The thesis examines the sick leave systems and productivity in Latvia and Norway as well as perform research utilizing both quantitative and qualitative data to highlight the advantages of graded sick leave in the context of productivity. Based on the results obtained, the author’s calculations and interpretations will be used to apply Norwegian practices as an example for improving work productivity in Latvia. Keywords: productivity, sick leave, absenteeism, presenteeism, Latvia, Norway
