Abstract
Pētījumā piedalījās 149 respondenti no dažādām kristīgām konfesijām.
The aim of the master's thesis was to explore the associations between attachment styles in relationships with people and with God, as well as to examine whether levels of anxious and avoidant attachment to God differ among members of various Christian denominations. The study included 149 participants representing different Christian confessions. A quantitative correlational and comparative study was conducted, using the Relationship Questionnaire (Bartolomew & Horowitz, 1991, adapted by I. Bite, 2002) and the Attachment to God Inventory (Beck & McDonald, 2004, adapted by O. Zute for the purposes of this master's thesis, 2025). The results revealed a statistically significant weak negative correlation between secure attachment to people and anxious attachment to God. A statistically significant weak positive correlation was found between fearful avoidant attachment to people and anxious attachment to God, as well as between preoccupied attachment to people and anxious attachment to God. Statistically significant differences in levels of anxious attachment to God were found between the three denominational groups. At the level of observed trends, Catholics exhibited higher levels of anxious attachment to God compared to Baptists and Lutherans.
