Abstract

Maģistra darba tēma ir “Kongo Demokrātiskās Republikas loma starptautiskajās attiecībās 2005-2013” Kongo Demokrātiskās Republikas iekšpolitiskie un ārpolitiskie procesi Latvijā ir nepietiekami pētīti. Darbā skatīts kā procesi lielākajā valstī Subsahāras reģionā skar starptautisko organizāciju-ANO un ES, kā arī atsevišķu lielvalstu-Lielbritānijas,Francijas, ASV,Ķīnas politiku. Pētijumā svarīga loma ir iekšpolitiskajiem procesiem-paramilitāru grupu aktivitātēm,korupcijai,jo tie ir saistīti ar ārvalstu-gan reģionālu,gan pasaules mēroga darbībām. Kongo Demokrātiskās Republikas problemātika skaidri parāda ģeopolitisko interešu sadursmi gan starp Eiropas, gan pasaules lielvalstīm,kuras atbalsta dažādas konfliktējošās grupas šajā stratēģiski svarīgajā un dabas resursiem bagātajā valstī

The theme of this Master thesis is " Role of Democratic Republic of the Congo in the International relations from 2005-2013". The domestic and foreign policy processes of the Democratic Republic of Congo is a insufficiently researched topic in Latvia. The Thesis shows how the processes in the biggest country in the Sub-Saharan region influence the policy of international organizations - UN and EU, as well as the policy of several other superpowers such as UK, France, USA and China. In the research important role is played by the domestic processes - the activities of paramilitary groups and corruption as they are connected with the actions of the foreign countries both regionally and internationally. The issue of the Democratic Republic of Congo clearly shows the clash of the geopolitical interests both between the European countries and the World's Superpowers, that are supporting different conflicting groups in this strategically important and rich with resources country
