Abstract
Pētījumā analizēta baroka laikmeta un baznīcas mūzikas komponista un ērģelnieka Johana Sebastiana Baha (1685 – 1750) daiļrade teoloģiskā kontekstā. Kā galvenais izpētes skaņdarbs izvēlēta Baha Mateja pasija. Piederība luteriskās baznīcas tradīcijai ir viens no stūrakmeņiem Baha vokāli sakrālās mūzikas tapšanā. Baha Mateja pasijā nāve attēlota vairāk kā mierinājums, gulēšana mierā un miegā, svētlaime savienībā ar Jēzu. Atslēgas vārdi: Bahs, Mateja pasija, luteriskā mūzikas tradīcija, nāve.
The Evangelical Churh and Compositions of Johann Sebastian Bach: The St.Matthew Passion. Thesis analyzes compositions of Baroque era and church music composer and organist Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 – 1750) in a theological context. Bach's St Matthew Passion is chosen as the main research piece. Belonging to the tradition of the Lutheran Church was one of the cornerstones in the creation of Bach's vocal sacred music.
