Abstract
Komunikācija svešvalodā ir viens no paņēminiem, kā pielietot komunikatīvās valodas
kompetences, ko skolēni apgūst, mācoties izglītības iestādēs, un kas ir nepieciešamas darba
tirgū. Lai attīstītu komunikatīvās kompetences un izpildi, bakalaura darbā atspoguļoti šo
jēdzienu teorētiskie aspekti. Darbā apskatītas dažāda veida uz tekstu balstītas aktivitātes, kas
paredzētas komunikācijas veicināšanai un studentu motivēšanai. Pētījumā ietvertā
pilotpētījuma mērķis ir veikt skolēnu komunikatīvo vajadzību analīzi un atklāt visoptimālākos
paņēmienus, kā ar mācīšanu un mācīšanos tās realizēt. Pētījuma rezultāti pierāda, ka uz tekstu
balstītas aktivitātes ir efektīvs veids kā stimulēt komunikāciju.

Communication in a foreign language is one of the ways to apply communicative language competences that school students acquire learning in the educational institutions and that is required from them upon entering the labour market. To develop learners’ communicative competence and performance this paper reviews the theoretical aspects related to the latter and suggests a variety of text-based communicative activities meant for encouragement and motivation of communication. The research comprises a pilot study that aims at investigating the students’ needs concerning teaching and learning communication and discovering the best methods to meet them. The research results proved that the text-based activities are an effective means of encouraging communication in the classroom.
