Jauniešu lasīšanas kompetences attīstīšana

Abstract

Bakalaura darba „Jauniešu lasīšanas kompetences attīstīšana” mērķis – pierādīt nepieciešamību pakāpeniski un rūpīgi pilnveidot lasīšanas kompetenci, līdzīgi citām kompetencēm, saskaņā ar studentu vajadzībām, prasībām un līmeni. Darba teorētiskā daļa sniedz vispārēju informāciju par lasīšanas lomu svešvalodas mācīšanas un mācīšanās procesos. Bakalaura darba autore apraksta dažādas lasīšanas iemaņas un stratēģijas, kā arī novērtē „kompetences” un „ilgtspējības” jēdzienus, un definē „jaunieši” koncepciju. Izmantojot teorētiskos pamatus un praktisko pētījumu tika parādīta nepieciešamība pakāpeniski un rūpīgi pilnveidot jauniešu lasīšanas kompetenci. Secinājumi ir balstīti uz pārskata par veikto aptauju un intervijām, kas atspoguļo mērķauditorijas vajadzību un prasību pašnovērtējumu. Iegūtie dati rāda, ka studentu līmenis un vajadzības ir jāievēro lasīšanas kompetences attīstīšanā. Šī darba secinājumi un rezultāti var tikt izmantoti angļu valodas nodarbībās, lai padarītu lasīšanas mācīšanas/mācīšanās procesu daudz efektīvāku.

The Bachelor thesis “Developing Young Adults’ Reading Competence” is written to prove that reading competence, as any other competence, should be developed gradually and patiently considering the needs, demands, and level of the target audience. The theoretical part of the paper deals with the role of reading in foreign language teaching and learning processes. The author of the paper describes various reading skills and strategies, as well as evaluates the notions of ‘competence’ and ‘sustainability’, and defines the ‘young adults’ concept. Using the theoretical basis and practical research, the necessity of gradual and patient development of the young adults’ reading competence was confirmed. The conclusions drawn are based on the survey of a questionnaire and structured interviews that demonstrate the self-reflection of the target audience’s needs and demands. The data obtained show that the level and necessities of the students should be considered when developing reading competence. The results and conclusions of this research can be used in English language classroom in order to make the teaching/learning process of reading more effective.
