Abstract
The aim of the study was to examine the associations between pornography consumption and attitudes toward pornography, perceived peer pressure, and parental monitoring, as well as to assess the extent to which peer pressure and parental monitoring predict adolescents’ attitudes toward pornography and their pornography consumption. The study involved 103 adolescents, of whom 54% were female and 46% male, aged between 16 and 19 years (M = 16.99; SD = 1.05). Three questionnaires were used: the Attitudes Toward Pornography Scale, the Revised Peer Pressure Questionnaire, and the Parental Monitoring Questionnaire. The results showed no statistically significant associations between pornography consumption and perceived peer pressure, attitudes toward pornography, or parental monitoring. Gender emerged as the strongest predictor of pornography consumption, which is consistent with findings in the scientific literature. Overall, the included variables explained only a minimal proportion of the variance in pornography consumption, indicating the influence of other, unexamined factors.
