Abstract

Master’s thesis is written on 58 pages in Latvian. It contains 32 pictures, 11 tables and 33 references to literature. Purpose: To develop computerized test for stereovision quality evaluation for vision screening. Subjects and methods: 709 pupils between 6 and 19 years take part in stereovision screening. Screening was performed using TNO test and a new computerized ON stereovison test. Both tests use an anaglyphic technique and random-dot patterns. Results: 1.The mean stereopsis with TNO test in school children was 100±73 arc seconds, but with ON test – 135±103 arc seconds. 2.A similar trend was observed in both stereovision tests – stereovision quality deteriorates with increasing children age. 3.The cut-off point of computerized ON test is 154 arc seconds, while tests sensitivity is 48% and specificity 85%. Key words: stereovision, stereovision quality, anaglyph method, TNO test
