Vecāko audzēkņu vārdu krājuma bagātināšanā izmantojamās stratēģijas

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs ir veltīts vecāko audzēkņu vārdu krājuma bagātināšanā izmantojamām stratēģiju izpētei. Pirmajā nodaļā iztirzātas vecāko audzēkņu vecuma grupas īpatnības, viņu intereses un vajadzības, kā arī analizētas vecāko audzēkņu komunikācijas un saskarsmes īpatnības klasē un viņu komunikatīva kompetence. Otrajā nodaļā aplūkota runāšanas prasmes vieta angļu valodas prasmju sistēmā, kā arī CEF un LR Nacionāla standarta prasības runāšanas prasmēm un vārdu krājumam. Iztirzātas metodes vecāko audzēkņu runāšanas prasmes attīstīšanai, kā arī komunikatīvas metodes izmantošana vidusskolas līmenī. Trešajā nodaļā tiek aplūkoti vārdu krājuma bagātināšanas veidi un analizēti vecāko audzēkņu vārdu krājuma bagātināšanā izmantojamās stratēģijas. Praktiskajā daļā analizēti rezultāti, kas iegūti eksperimenta laikā Salaspils 2. vidusskolas 9. klasēs. Prakse liecina, ka vārdu krājums paplašinās ja stratēģijas tiek izmantotas, ievērojot audzēkņu vecuma īpatnības un valodas zināšanas; un ja mācību materiāls tiek izvēlēts, ievērojot audzēkņu intereses un nepieciešamības.

The Bachelor Thesis deals with strategies applied in vocabulary enrichment of senior learners. Chapter 1 explores the peculiarities of senior learners, their needs and interests; it also describes communication and interaction in the classroom environment and the communicative competence of senior learners. Chapter 2 discusses the place of speaking skills in the overall system of the English language skills, requirements for senior learners concerning speaking skills and vocabulary in the Common European Framework and in the National Standard of the Republic of Latvia. It provides an overview on methods applied in developing speaking skills of the target population and the application of the Communicative Approach at the secondary school level. Chapter 3 discusses ways of vocabulary acquisition and presents an in-depth study of vocabulary enrichment strategies applied in foreign language studies, focusing on the vocabulary enrichment process of senior learners. The practical part analyses results gained during the pilot study conducted at Salaspils Secondary School No. 2 with 9th grade learners. The pilot study has proved that the vocabulary of the target language of the target audience is enhanced if strategies applied are in line with the age peculiarities and the proficiency level of senior learners, and the study material is selected taking into consideration learners’ needs and interests.
