Pētījuma tēmu noteica tas, ka joprojām aktuāla ir bērna radošuma veicināšana tēlotājdarbībā, jo tai ir tieša saistība ar radošas personības veidošanos nākotnē. Pētījuma mērėis: Izpētīt tēlotājdarbības un personības attīstības teorētiskos aspektus un pārbaudīt tēlotājdarbības nozīmi radošuma veicināšanā. Pētījuma teorētiskā daĜa balstās uz mākslas pedagoăijas pamatlicēja Aleksandra Dauges atziĦām un secinājumiem par tēlotājdarbības nozīmi un iespējām bērnu audzināšanā un izglītošanā, par skolotāja nozīmi un atbildību šajā procesā; uz pedagogu, psihologu un filozofu J.A. Studenta, T. Komarovas, V.Hibneres, L.Vorkales, Ā.Karpovas, Ā.Šponas, G.Svences, Ē.Fromma, Ž.Piažē, Ē.Ēriksona, V.ReĦăes, A.Maslova, I.Likas, E.Berna, D.Grīvas, B.Frīdenbergas atziĦām. Psiholoăiski pedagoăiskās literatūras izpēte no vēsturiskā un mūsdienu skatījuma, bija nozīmīgs tēlotājdarbības un personības radošuma mijsakarību atklāsmes faktors. Pētījuma praktiskā darba daĜa atklāj pētījumu, kā tēlotājdarbība veicina pirmsskolas vecuma bērnu radošumu. Pētījuma gaitā tika izstrādāts nodarbību cikls un veikta bērnu zīmējumu analīze bērnu dabiskās attīstības gaitā. Pētījumā tika pārbaudīta tēlotājdarbības nozīme bērnu radošuma veicināšanā, kas sekmē radošas personības veidošanos.
