Abstract
Šī darba mērķis ir izpētīt, vai pastāv kopsakarības starp vidusskolēnu pašapziņu un viņu publiskās uzstāšanās iemaņām, īpašu vērību pievēršot tieši publiskajai runai.
Tēmas izvēli noteica autora interese par psiholoģiska rakstura problēmām, kuras viņa ir novērojusi vidusskolēniem komunikācijas un it īpaši publiskās uzstāšanās laikā. Šis faktors motivēja darba autoru pievērsties dziļākai problēmas izpētei.
Darbā tika izmantotas tādas pētīšanas metodes kā aptauja un situācijas analīze.
Viens no darba galvenajiem secinājumiem ir sekojošs: vidusskolēnu publiskās uzstāšanās iemaņas ir cieši saistītas ar viņu pašapziņas līmeni.

The paper is devoted to exploring the interrelationship between secondary school learners’ self-esteem and their speaking performance especially paying attention to public speech. The author found an interest in the current theme because she has encountered problems in her students’ speaking communication especially performance, which are of a psychological nature. This motivated her to have a more thorough study of the issue. Survey and case study were chosen as research methods of the paper. One of the main conclusions the author has arrived at is that students’ speaking performance is closely linked with their specific self-esteem level.
