Abstract
Šajā darbā ir izpētīta ἦθος veidošana un pielietojums Cicerona runās „In Pisonem” un „Pro Milone”. Sengrieķu vārda „ἦθος” galvenā nozīme ir raksturs, bet kā retorisks termins tas nozīmē „raksturs, kāds tas parādās runā”.
Pētnieciskais darbs sastāv no teorētiskās un analītiskās daļas. Teorētiskajā daļā ir noskaidroti antīko autoru teorētiskie uzskati par ἦθος un ἦθος kā retoriska jēdziena attīstība. Analītiskajā daļā, balstoties uz Cicerona teorētiskajiem uzskatiem par ἦθος, ir izanalizēti galveno personu raksturi un to veidojums abās pētāmajās runās.
In this paper the formation and use of ἦθος in Cicero’s speeches „Against Piso” (In Pisonem) and „In the defence of Milo” (Pro Milone) has been studied. Ancient Greek word „ἦθος” basically means „character”, but as a rhetorical term it means “character as it appears in a speech”. This work consists of theoretical and analytical part. In the theoritical part it has been inquired into ancient authors’ theoretical views on ἦθος un evolution of ἦθος as a rhetorical term. In the analytical part it has been inquired into main persons’ characters and their formation in both speeches, based upon Cicero’s theoretical views on ἦθος.
