Abstract
nepieder.
Political and ideological aspects of education and relations between education and power have been relatively little discussed. Therefore the aim of the Master’s Paper Implementation of political interests of power in the teacher training in the 18th century in Latvia is to investigate the influence of power on the teacher training during this period. The author has examined the institution of teacher training from the theoretical perspective as offered by the political sociology which views teacher education as a resource with the help of which various social and interest groups carry out their interests in society. The practical part of the Paper and the results of the historical investigation reveal that the institution of teacher training does not necessarily implement the interests of the political power, however, it can implement the interests of those social and interest groups which do not own the official political power.
