| dc.description | For the needs of the time service of the Astronomical Observatory of the University of Latvia, in 1924, a special room for precise clocks was built in the basement of the building at Raiņa boulevard 19. It was protected against environmental vibrations and temperature changes so as not to interfere with the operation of the precise clocks. The room served until 1960, when the time service was moved to an observation station in the Botanical Garden of the Latvian State University. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Latvijas Universitātes Astronomiskās observatorijas laika dienesta vajadzībām 1924. gadā Raiņa bulvāra 19 ēkas pagrabā tika izbūvēta speciāla telpa precīzajiem pulksteņiem. Tā bija nodrošināta pret apkārtējās vides vibrācijām un temperatūras maiņām, lai netraucētu precīzo pulksteņu gaitai. Telpa kalpoja līdz 1960. gadam, kad laika dienestu pārcēla uz novērošanas staciju Latvijas Valsts Universitātes Botāniskā dārza teritorijā. | en_US |
