Abstract
Bakalaura darbā „Bērnu literatūras tulkošanas kontrastīvā analīze Dž.K. Roulingas romānos” ir pētīti Roulingas grāmatu tulkojumi latviešu valodā, mēģinot noteikt galvenās tulkošanas metodes, ko izmantojis tulkotājs Ingus Josts. Darba autore ir izpētījusi dažādus problēmjautājumus tulkojumā, proti, īpašvārdu, vietvārdu un mistisku radījumu nosaukumu tulkojumi. Aplūkotas arī gramatiskās un stila kļūdas, kas raksturīgas Ingusa Josta tulkojumam. Turklāt, viena no galvenajām problēmām, kas radusies Roulingas grāmatu popularitātes dēļ un ir ietekmējusi arī tulkojumu kvalitāti, ir īsie termiņi, kuros grāmatas jāiztulko. Tomēr bez dažādām nepilnībām latviešu tulkojumā, Ingusam Jostam ir izdevies atrast arī veiksmīgus risinājumus.
In the research paper “Contrastive Analysis of Children’s Literature Translation: J.K.Rowling’s Novels” the author has studied the Latvian translation of Harry Potter books, trying to determine the main methods used by the translator Ingus Josts. There are several problematic issues analyzed in the paper, namely, the translation of proper nouns, place names, names of mystical creatures, as well as some stylistic and grammatical errors in the Latvian translations are explored. Furthermore, one of the major problems that has been caused by the fame of Harry Potter books and that has influenced the quality of the translation is the deadlines set for the translators. Notwithstanding all the problems the translators have to face, the Latvian translation provides also some very good examples and solutions to be studied
