Golema mīts Gustava Mairinka romānā “Golems” un Pītera Akroida romānā “Dens Līno un Laimhausas Golems”

Abstract

Bakalaura darba nosaukums ir Golema mīts Gustava Mairinka romānā Golems un Pītera Akroida romānā Dens Līno un Laimhausas Golems…. Šis darbs ir veltīts analīzei par Golema mītu Gustava Mairinka romānā “Golems” un P. Akroida romānā “Dens Lino un Laimhausas Golems”. Šis temats ir svarīgs, jo abi autori attēlo problēmas un tēlus, kuri ir svarīgi arī 21.gadsimtā. Abi autori diskutē par cilvēka dabu un tās īpatnībām. Mairinks un Akroids savos darbos izmanto Golema mītu kā prototipu saviem romāniem, taču abos romānos Golema interpretācija ir atšķirīga un nav līdzīga tā oriģinālam. Pētījuma mērķis ir analizēt Golema mītu, tā lomu literatūrā unatklāt būtiskākās īpatnības dažādajās mīta interpretācijās šajos romānos. Darbs ietver teorētisku pārskatu par mitoloģiju un mītu kā tādu, kā arī rūpīgu analīzi par minētajiem romāniem.Pētījuma rezultāti liecina, ka abi romāni apskata pārdabiskos un zemes spēkus, kas pārsniedz cilvēka saprašanu.

The current paper is devoted to the analysis of the myth of Golem in the novels of Gustav Meyrink Der Golemand Peter Ackroyd`s Dan Leno and the Limehouse Golem. This theme is important, as both authors depict issues and images that are still relevant in the 21st century. Both authors have discussed the human nature and its peculiarities. Moreover, Gustav Meyrink and Peter Ackroyd used the Golem myth as a prototype for their novels, however, both novels have different interpretations of Golem, very distant from original myth. The goal of the paperis to analyse the Golem myth, its role in literature and reveal the peculiarities of the different interpretations of the same myth in the novels selected for the given research. The paper includes a review of theory on mythology and myth as such, and a thorough analysis of both mentioned novels. The results of the research reveal that each of the novels examine the forces, supernatural and terrestrial, that exceed the human capacity to deal with.
