Abstract
The author of the bachelor’s thesis “The Impact of Part-Time Work Schedules on Employee Productivity and Job Satisfaction in Latvia,” Linda Krasovska, analyzes the prevalence of part-time work schedules and their effects on employee performance and emotional well-being in the Latvian context. The aim of the study is to determine whether such schedules enhance job satisfaction and promote a more effective work-life balance. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to a theoretical overview of different types of work schedules, the definition of productivity, and the relationship between employee well-being and working time arrangements. The main focus of the research lies in two key questions: 1. Does part-time work positively affect employees’ emotional well-being? 2. Does part-time work increase job satisfaction? The empirical part of the bachelor's thesis includes quantitative and qualitative research. The data obtained will be analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods, such as correlation analysis, average values, frequencies. The results of the work can be used both in internal personnel management practices of companies and as a basis for policymakers when developing measures to promote flexible work in Latvia. Keywords: part-time work, productivity, job satisfaction, work-life balance, Latvian labor market.
