Abstract
The aim of the study was to examine whether there are associations between childhood experiences of physical punishment, parental emotional warmth, and bullying role groups. Additionally, the potential moderating role of parental emotional warmth in the relationship between physical punishment and bullying roles was explored. The study included 104 participants, consisting of 71 girls and 29 boys. The Dimensions of Discipline inventory was used to measure physical punishment, the Bullying Questionnaire to assess bullying roles and the Parental Bonding Instrument to measure emotional warmth. The results showed correlations between maternal physical punishment and the bully role. Children in the bully-victim group had significantly higher physical punishment scores compared to other bullying groups. No moderating effect of parental emotional warmth was observed in these associations.
