Antiutopija Mārgaretas Atvudas romānā „Kalpones stāsts”

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs pēta antiutopiju Mārgaretas Atvudas romānā „Kalpones stāsts”. Bakalaura darba mērķis is atrast un analizēt antiutopijas pazīmes attiecīgajā romānā. Darbs sniedz informāciju par seno laiku utopijām, utopiju attīstību kopš Renesances, antiutopijas žanra attīstību, Mārgaretas Atvudas daiļradi un antiutopiju „Kalpones stāstā”. Pētījuma metode ir kvalitatīvā satura analīze, teksta interpretācija un salīdzinošā analīze, kas tika izmantotas antiutopijas analīzei attiecīgajā romānā. Pētījums varētu būt interesants tiem, kas ir ieinteresēti antiutopijas žanrā un Mārgaretas Atvudas daiļradē. The bachelor thesis investigates dystopia in Margaret Atwood’s novel The Handmaid’s Tale. The goal of the bachelor thesis is to find which dystopian characteristics are present in the given novel and provide analysis of those. The work gives information about utopias of ancient times, development of utopias since Renaissance, development of the dystopian genre, Margaret Atwood’s fiction, and dystopia in The Handmaid’s Tale. The research methods are qualitative content analysis, interpretation, and comparative analysis which helped to analyse the dystopian features in the novel. This research may be interesting for those who are interested in the genre of dystopia and Margaret Atwood’s literary works.
