Abstract
Maģistra darba „Romantisko attiecību reprezentācija kino: ASV romantisko komēdiju analīze (2000–2010)” mērķis ir izveidot tipiskāks romantisko attiecību naratīva modeļus ASV romantiskajās komēdijās laika posmā no 2000. līdz 2010. gadam, analizējot dzimuma lomu un rīcību reprezentāciju nozīmi romantisko attiecību veidošanā.
Darba teorētisko pamatojumu veido ASV kino industrijas skaidrojums mūsdienu patērniecības un populārās kultūras kontekstā, akcentējot jūtu patērniecības un romantisko komēdiju žanra iezīmes. Maģistra darba mērķa īstenošanai izmantota kvantitatīvā kontentanalīzi un naratīva analīze. Ar kvantitatīvās kontentanalīzes palīdzību iegūti romantisko attiecību reprezentācijas kvantitatīvie rādītāji. Savukārt, kvantitatīvo datu interpretēšanai un apstrādei izmantota naratīva analīze, ar kuras palīdzību identificēti tipiskākie romantisko attiecību naratīva modeļi ASV romantiskajās komēdijās, skaidrojot sievietes un vīrieša lomu attiecību veidošanā. Darba secinājumu daļā skaidroti iegūto tipiskāko romantisko attiecību reprezentāciju rezultāti.

The aim of the master’s thesis „Romantic Relationship Representation in Movies: Analysis of the USA Romantic Comedies (2000–2010)” is to establish most typical romantic relationships in USA romantic comedies from year 2000 till year 2010, by analyzing the role of gender and action representation meanings in forming romantic relationships. The theoretical part consists of USA film industry’s interpretation in the context of modern consumerism and popular culture, by putting accents on sentiments consumerism and characteristic marks of romantic comedies. To apply the aim of the master’s thesis quantitative content analysis and narrative analysis were used. Qualitative content analysis was used to obtain qualitative indicators representing romantic relationships. Narrative analysis was used to interpret and analyze quantitative data and to identify the most typical narrative models of romantic relationships in USA romantic comedies who explain both woman’s and man’s role in relationships. The most typical romantic relationship representations are explained at the conclusion.
