Humora tulkošana multilingvistiskajā kontekstā

Abstract

Šis pētījums aplūko humora tulkošanu multilingvistiskajā kontekstā. Šī pētījuma nolūks ir ilustrēt pieejas, ar kurām humoru var tulkot no pirmvalodas mērķvalodā. Pētījums ietver humora tulkošanas teorijas detalizētu izpēti, kā arī O. Henrija īsā stāsta „Aizņemtā cilvēka romāns” un tā latviešu un krievu tulkojumu komparatīvo analīzi. Iegūtie rezultāti pierādīja, ka daudzveidīgo tulkošanas paņēmienu meistarīga izmantošana un mērķa valodas un kultūras ievērošana palīdz pārtulkot humoru no pirmvalodas mērķvalodā visefektīvākajā veidā. Pētījumā iegūtos datus varētu izmantot kā praktiskus ieteikumus tulkotājiem, kas nodarbojas ar humora tulkošanu, un kā paraugu tam, kā tulkotāja ieguldījums ļauj radīt adekvātu un kvalitatīvu tulkojumu.

The present research deals with rendering humour in a multilingual context. The purpose of the research is to illustrate the approaches with which humour can be rendered from the source text (ST) to the target text (TT). The research implies a detailed study of the translation theory on rendering humour and a comparative analysis of the short story by O. Henry "The Romance of a Busy Broker" and its translations into Latvian and Russian. The obtained results verify that a skillful use of diverse translation techniques, and consideration of the target language and culture, help to render humour from the ST to the TT in the most efficient way. The findings of the research could serve as a practical guidance for translators dealing with rendering humour and as an example of how the input of the translator allows creating an adequate and quality translation.
