Abstract

Diplomdarba nosaukums ir “Banku līgumi un to tulkošanas problēmas”. Tajā autors apskata līgumu tulkošanas problēmas banku sektorā un līgumos lietotās valodas attīstības tendences uzņēmējdarbības globalizācijas apstākļos. Lai atspoguļotu līgumu attīstību un tajos lietotās valodas sarežģītību, autors pēta līgumattiecības regulējošās likumdošanas attīstību un parāda, ka banku sektoru ietekmē ne tikai ekonomikas un politikas, bet arī kultūras tendences, kā arī uzsver angļu valodas pieaugošo lomu mūsdienu darījumu pasaulē. Raksturīgākās tulkošanas problēmas un īpatnības, tai skaitā lingvistiskā sarežģītība, ar tulkojamību un terminu neviennozīmību saistītās problēmas, kā arī raksturīgākās gramatikas iezīmes tiek apskatītas caur diviem aspektiem – tradicionālo, sarežģīto juridisko angļu valodu un vienkāršās angļu valodas (Plain Language) attīstības tendencēm.

The Diploma Paper “Contracts in Banking and Related Translation Problems” investigates contract translation problems in the banking sector and contract language development tendencies under businesses globalisation circumstances. To reveal the dynamics of contract development and the complexity of contracting language, the author discusses the development of contract law, proves the banking sector as an economy, policy-, and culture-sensitive sector, and outlines the increasing role of International English in the contemporary business world. The peculiarities and the most common translation-related problems, including the complexity of linguistic expression, translatability and terminological ambiguity, as well as the characteristic grammar are examined from two aspects – the traditional legal English and the Plain Language trend.
