Geišu kultūra Japānā

Abstract

Bakalaura darba “Geišu kultūra Japānā” mērķis bija izpētīt geišu kultūru un vēsturi, izprast kādēļ tik maz tiek stāstīts ārpus Japānas un izpētīt strīdīgo jautājumu par geišām un prostitūciju. Darba autore izvēlējās šo tēmu, jo geišu pasaule vēl aiz vien ir visai aizvērta un noslēpumaina. Cilvēki pārprot, kas īsti ir geišas un jauc tās kopā ar prostitūciju. Geišas un jūdžo ir diezgan līdzīgas, taču nebūt nav vienādas. Autore detalizēti izpētīja geišu attīstību, secinot, ka geišas ļoti ietekmējas no valdības un sabiedrības ap tām. Taču, neskatoties uz visu, geišas ir izdzīvojušas līdz mūsdienām un tās praktizē visas japāņu tradīcijas ko tās praktizēja arī daudz gadus atpakaļ. Darba ietveros tik veikta aptauja, kur autore izpētīja Latvijas iedzīvotāju izpratni par geišām, lielākoties secinot, ka Latvijā ir par maz informācijas par geišām. Darbs sastāv no piecām daļām, 37 lappuses un diviem pielikumiem.

The purpose of this bachelor’s thesis “Geisha culture in Japan” was to explore the Geisha culture and the history of geisha, to understand why so little is known outside of Japan and explore the controversial question about geishas and prostitutes. The Author chose this topic because the world of geishas is still very closed and mysterious. People misunderstand what is a geisha and mix it up with prostitution. Geisha’s and yūjō have a lot of similarities, but they are not the same. The author explored the development of the geishas in detail, concluding that geishas were influenced by the government and the society a lot. But that did not stop them and they still survive in nowadays, still practicing the same traditions they did before. During the project, the author also surveyed Latvian citizens about their knowledge of geishas, concluding that Latvia has little to none information about geishas. The thesis consists of five parts, 37 pages and two appendices.
