Abstract
Bakalaura darbā ‘’ Igauņu un lībiešu seno kāzu tradīciju kopīgās un atšķirīgās iezīmes’’
autore apraksta un salīdzina abu radniecīgo tautu kopīgās un atšķirīgās kāzu svinēšanas
tradīcijas, galveno uzsvaru liekot uz kāzu svinību norisi, bet kāzu ticējumos un paražās dodot
tikai nelielu ieskatu.
Darbs sastāv no 12 nodaļām un vairākām apakšnodaļām, kurās teorētiskajā daļā
aprakstīta etnogrāfijas zinātne, tās mērķi un pētniecības metodes; igauņu un lībiešu kāzu
tradīciju un kultūras mantojuma apkopošana un saglabāšana, dots vispārējs ieskats igauņu un
lībiešu tautu izcelsmē, skaidrota kāzu definīcija un kāzu tradīciju ietekmējošie faktori, sevišķi
no reliģijas viedokļa. Praktiskajā daļā autore izklāsta un apraksta kāzu priekšnoteikumus,
bildināšanas, saderināšanās un kāzu ceremonijas rituālus, sniedz koncentrētu igauņu un
lībiešu kāzu svinību aprakstu, minot arī interesantākās un savdabīgākās dažādu reģionu, kā arī
citu somugru tautu, piemēram, somu un sāmu, kāzu tradīciju nianses. Autore dod arī vispārēju
ieskatu kāzu ticējumos un paražās. Nobeigumā salīdzinātas abu tautu kopīgās un atšķirīgās
kāzu tradīcijas un izdarīti secinājumi.
Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, apzināt un salīdzināt igauņu un lībiešu seno kāzu
tradīcijas, izpētīt to kopīgās un atšķirīgās iezīmes.
Izvirzītā hipotēze, ka savstarpēji radniecīgo somugru tautu – igauņu un lībiešu –seno
kāzu tradīcijās vairāk ir kopīgo iezīmju un atšķirības vērojamas tikai niansēs.

In the Bachelor paper ‘’ Estonian and Livonian ancient wedding traditions: similarities and differences’’ the author describes and compares ancient wedding traditions of both related nations, their similarities and diferences, putting the main focus on the wedding celebration process, but giving only a small insight in wedding beliefs and customs. The work consists of 12 chapters and a number of subdivisions. In theoretical part the science of ethnography is described, its aims and methods of research, Estonian and Livonian wedding tradition and cultural heritage collection and preservation, the author gives a general overview of Estonian and Livonian nation origin, explains the definition of wedding and wedding traditions influencing factors, especially from the religious point of view. In the practical part the author expounds and describes wedding preconditions, proposal of marriage, engagement and wedding ceremony rites, gives a concentrated Estonian and Livonian wedding celebration description, mentioning the most interesting and original nuances of wedding traditions of various regions, as well as other Finno-Ugric peoples, such as Finns and Sami people. The author gives a general overview of wedding beliefs and customs. In conclusion there are compared the two nations wedding traditions, similarities and diferences, and conclusions are carried out. The aim of the research is to ascertain, identify and compare Estonian and Livonian ancient wedding traditions,to explore their similarities and diferences. The hypothesis is that there are a lot of similarities in mutually related Finno-Ugric peoples – Estonians and Livonians – ancient wedding traditions and diferences are observed only in nuances.
