Ar probāciju saistītās terminoloģijas attīstība angļu valodā

Abstract

Juridiskā terminoloģija attīstās, pielāgojoties sociālajām pārmaiņām. Bakalaura darbā tiek pētīta ar probāciju saistīto terminu izcelsme angļu valodā, kā arī identificēts to izveides dominējošais princips un to attīstības produktīvākais periods. Pētījuma metodes ietver literatūras apskatu un jauktu metožu gadījumu izpēti. Teorētiskajā daļā tiek apskatīta vēsturiskās valodniecības loma valodniecības pētniecībā, probācija krimināltiesību sistēmā un angļu valodas juridiskās terminoloģijas attīstība. Empīriskā daļa sastāv no 73 ar probāciju saistītu terminu kvalitatīvas hronoloģiskās un kvantitatīvas statistikās analīzes. Pētījums liecina, ka neoloģismu veidošanās ir dominējošais ar probāciju saistīto terminu izveides princips, un 1970. gadi ir produktīvākais periods to attīstībā.

Legal terminology evolves in response to social changes. The paper investigates the emergence of probation-related terms in the English language and identifies the prevailing way of their formation and the most prolific period in their evolution. The research methods include a literature review and a mixed-methods case study. The theoretical part overviews the role of historical linguistics in linguistics research, probation in the system of criminal law, and the development of English legal terminology. The empirical part consists of qualitative chronological and quantitative statistical analyses of a sample of 73 probation-related terms. The research shows that the creation of neologisms is the dominant way of forming probation-related terms, and the 1970s were the most prolific period in their evolution.
