Tirdzniecības īpatnības virtuālo valūtu tirgū

Abstract

Virtuālās valūtas, t.sk. Bitcoin, pēdējos gados kļuvis par aktuālu tematu gan finanšu investoriem un uzņēmējiem, gan valstu likumdošanas un finansu drošības pārstāvjiem. Darbs „Tirdzniecības īpatnības virtuālo valūtu tirgū” ir starpdisciplinārs pētījums starptautiskajā ekonomikā, kurā tiek identificētas tirdzniecības īpatnības virtuālo valūtu tirgū, nosakot atšķirības no tirdzniecības reālajā valūtu tirgū un prognozētas virtuālās valūtas tirgus attīstības tendences. Lai to sasniegtu tika izpētīts reālās un virtuālās valūtas tirgus, to attīstība un valūtas tirdzniecības pamatnostādnes, atsevišķi apskatot virtuālo valūtu Bitcoin. Tika analizēts virtuālo valūtu tiesiskais regulējums pasaulē, Eiropas Savienībā un atsevišķi Baltijas valstīs. Analizēti tādi temati, kā konkurence un spekulatīvie motīvi reālo valūtu un virtuālo valūtu tirdzniecībā. Tika noskaidrots, vai cilvēkiem ir interese par virtuālo valūtu lietošanu, vai un kā ir lietojuši virtuālo valūtu. Darba galvenā atziņa – virtuālo valūtu tirdzniecība ir atšķirīga no reālās valūtas tirdzniecības pamatprincipiem.

In recent years virtual currencies, including Bitcoin, have raised increased interest among both finance investors and entrepreneurs as well as representatives of state legislation and financial security. Master thesis “Specific Characteristics of Virtual Currency Trade” is an interdisciplinary research in the field of international economy that identifies the specific characteristics of virtual currency trade while outlining differences between trade in the real currency markets and the predicted development tendencies in virtual currency markets. In order to achieve this aim, the author has studied real and virtual currency markets, their development as well as currency trade guidelines with specific focus on the virtual currency – Bitcoin. The thesis analyses legal regulatory framework of virtual currencies in the world, in European Union and separately – in the Baltic States. Topics such as competition and speculative motives in markets of real and virtual currencies have been examined. It has been clarified whether people have interest in using virtual currencies and if and how they have used it. The main conclusion of the thesis suggests that there are considerable differences between guidelines of virtual currency markets and real currency markets.
