Abstract
The aim of the master's thesis was to determine the relationship between maternal role expectations, perceived social support and pregnancy anxiety. The study sample included 157 women in the second trimester of pregnancy. 113 of them were in the age group from 18 to 30 years and 44 of them were in the age group 35 and over. The surveys used in the study – Prenatal Maternal Expectations Scale, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support and Pregnancy – Related Anxiety Questionnaire – Revised. There were also asked demographic questions to examine their possible relationship with the study variables. The results indicate that there are no statistically significant differences between age groups, but it was shown that maternal role expectations predict the level of pregnancy anxiety.
