Abstract
Atsevišķu koksnes izcelsmes cukuru oksidēšana ar nātrija perjodātu. Meile K., zinātniskie vadītāji Dr. sci. ing. Žūriņš A. un Dr. chem. Vīksna A..
Periodate oxidation of several wood origin sugars. Meile K., supervisors Dr. sci. ing. Žūriņš A. and Dr. chem. Vīksna A.. Master’s thesis, 57 pages, 28 figures, 13 tables, 6 appendices, 59 literature references. In Latvian. In this study the periodate oxidation kinetics of levoglucosan, d-glucose and d-cellobiose with sodium periodate in different conditions have been investigated, and two schemes for the titrimetric determination of levoglucosan and sugars in the products of pyrolysis of wood have been proposed. The reaction was performed at 40 °C, 20 °C and 5 °C in acidic, neutral and alkaline aqueous media. The amount of the reduced periodate was determined by iodometric titration of iodate ions. HPLC-RID was used for a comparison of sugar determination.
