Abstract
Bachelor’s paper has been written in Latvian and consists of 30 pages, contains 11 figures, 4 tables and 24 bibliographic sources. Purpose: to find out how does visual aquity, refraction, corneal steepness and thickness change depending on the keratoconus apex position and to compare the data. Method: The keratoconus pacient cards have been analyzed to find out how does visual aquity, refraction, corneal steepness and thickness change depending on the keratoconus apex position. Results: The position of the keratoconus apex has a statistically significant impact on visual acuity (p=0,0041), refraction (p=0,006) and corneal steepness (p=0,00000005), but not on corneal thickness (p=0,63). Keywords: keratoconus, apex at the centre, apex on the periphery, visual acuity, refraction, corneal steepness, corneal thickness.
