Abstract
In this thesis the author describes the mathematical "Independent Chip Model" (ICM) of the poker game. ICM is used to calculate the player’s overall equity in a tournament. The model uses stack sizes alone to determine how often a player will win a game and to count the monetary value of the chips. The bachelor thesis includes chapters describing the history, types and rules of the poker game. The thesis contains description of the mathematical essence of ICM, related problems and their solutions. As result of the bachelor thesis, the author has explored ICM and developed an online poker tool for ICM training.
