Rakstīšanas prasmju pilnveidošana portālā Facebook

Abstract

Mūsdienu skolēnu paaudze, kura tiek saukta arī par digitālajiem ‘iezemiešiem’, motivē skolotājus paskatīties uz angļu valodas mācīšanas procesu no citas perspektīvas. Skolotāji mēģina mācību procesā iekļaut komponentus, kuri atbilst skolēnu reālās dzīves pieredzei. Darba mērķis bija izpētīt portāla Facebook un tā komponentu efektivitāti skolēnu vispārējo rakstīšanas prasmju pilnveidošanā. Lai sasniegtu pētījuma mērķi, tika veikta gadījuma izpēte. Kā pētījuma instrumenti tika izmantoti anketas, intervija un novērošana. Pētījuma rezultāti pierāda, ka, ja angļu valodas mācīšanas procesā iekļautie rakstīšanas uzdevumi ir jēgpilni, atbilst patreizējās skolēnu paaudzes vajadzībām, un ja tiek izmantoti dažādi portāla Facebook komponenti, tad skolēnu vispārējās rakstīšanas prasmes var tikt veiksmīgi pilnveidotas.

The generation of today’s learners called Digital Natives motivates educators to look at the English language teaching process from a different perspective. Teachers seek to incorporate components which are relevant to their learners’ real life experience. The purpose of this paper was to explore the effectiveness of Facebook and its components in developing learners’ overall writing skills. In order to reach the goal, a case study was implemented. The following research tools – questionnaires, an observation and an interview were used. The research results showed that if the writing activities incorporated in the ELT process are meaningful and relevant to the needs of the current generation of learners and if different components of Facebook are used, the overall writing skills of learners may be successfully improved.
